Throughout my placement my responsibility increased as I developed more skills, whether this was taking authority over audit testing areas or helping new graduate joiners with my recently gained knowledge and introducing them to the systems and audit work.

-Gained insight into audit and assurance and the skills and knowledge required in the accounting industry.
-Heightened interpersonal skills through day-to-day work and connecting with co-workers

I received support through every audit engagement I participated in whether this was from colleagues of a similar grade to myself or from higher grade staff and managers who regularly provided feedback, coaching and support when required.

The company culture and atmosphere was exceptional, there was always events/talks happening to connect individuals across the firm and to promote diversity across all areas through activities.There was always a community feel within the office and across the wider firm with so much to get involved with and plenty of encouragement to help more people get involved.

I thoroughly enjoyed my placement year, returning to university for my final year will be bittersweet as I will miss the relationships I have built during the year and the experiences I have gained. There were so many experiences to get involved in across the year and the opportunity to diversify my audit client portfolio which improved my skills and helped me gain insights across different industries.
