Legal Intern Review

Within Employment specifically, I have been involved with writing minutes for various meetings, sending out weekly news updates, and a variety of research tasks producing detailed written reports.
Within Corporate specifically, I have also been exposed to drafting ancillary documents for restructuring projects, observing a partner coming to the "close" of an M&A transaction, and producing essential documents such as board minutes and draft work orders.

I received countless exposure to partners. The SVS team hosted a range of insight sessions where we (SVS students) had the opportunity to ask senior leadership about their work and area of law.
Trainees were available and extremely friendly, all of whom were more than happy to meet for a coffee and talk about their experiences of the firm, and also their legal careers so far.
Throughout the induction, we received presentations that provided clarity as to where deloitte legal fits within the wider Deloitte firm and the MDM model within that.

I have continued to develop my professional communication skills. Part of our induction involved several workshops focused around networking, so it was a fantastic kickstart to honing my professional networking skills and actively building my network.
I learnt how to draft ancillary documents in Deloitte legal house-style, minute for telephone/hybrid meetings, and use templfy to create presentations and reports.

Having been nervous about the famous cut-throat london law scene, it was a completely pleasant surprise that everyone was extremely friendly. It is an absolute credit to the senior leadership team who have worked hard to create an approachable environment. The open floor plan provided fantastic accessibility to senior partners, whom were more than happy to take some time to talk me through what they were working on and include me on the work.

I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, also to live the london corporate life for 4 weeks. There was an opportunity for creativity and i enjoyed writing blog posts and helping develop podcasts.
