Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Shadowing a member of the team, cooperating in team calls, working through tasks related to the engagements, taking part in scheduled workshops as well as managing flexible workshops in our own calendar. Completing exercises relevant to the role to later review and discuss in group sessions. Working on an independent research project to eventually create a presentation to be presented to senior management/partners. Connecting with other vacation students and arranging meet ups based on an internally organised networking scheme.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
Helped provide clarity on the industry in general, as well as advice on applying to positions in the financial services sector. The structure and culture of the firm was explained clearly and was also portrayed through the sessions run during the vacation scheme.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
It facilitated developing a sense of professional etiquette and building your personal brand. There was an opportunity to learn efficient and/or advanced excel and proficiency in other systems/software related to financial services. A research project was tasked to us which involved developing an understanding in an emerging technology and facilitated the opportunity to present our findings to a panel of senior managers/partners in the field.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Incredibly welcoming, time was made for us to chat and ask questions by all members of the team when requested regardless of grade/time constraints. All vacation students were encouraged to be involved with the team socials and seamlessly integrated into the team.
