Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Within IMR, I spent time completing tax reviews of new funds, liaising with teams across the world to ensure client deliverables are able to be completed. Seeing client meetings and how they are dealt with and what on in the process of managing projects and creating deliverables.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Although emails were always checked, many of the emails and work was substantially my own, which was a great feeling seeing your contribution being shown to clients and the wider team. They were very good at giving tasks that had substance which felt like responsibility was being given.

It's been great at developing interpersonal skills specific to work places and professional environments. As well as developing excel, data analysis skills, it has been a good opportunity to develop your professional persona and how to communicate with clients in both written and verbal form.

We had buddies in the team, people leaders and overall people who were always on hand to support you if you had any questions. Aside from this, people were always very helpful around the office and would always be happy to help and chat to you.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Very positive, it is clear that people were happy to work there. They were very flexible in letting you make arrangements that suit you which helped with the overall work.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I have really enjoyed my placement. It has been a great opportunity to see the company and feel like you were really getting hands on experience. Not only that, but you felt like you were making a difference a lot of the time instead of just being given work for the sake of it. The whole experience has been great.

What advice would you give to others applying to Deloitte
Make sure you put your hand up for as much as possible during the time there. Everyone is so welcoming and the work variety is great which means you get a real feel for the company. You meet lots of people by being willing to just go up and say hello, people are always willing to talk about their job. It sounds like a cliche, but genuinely no question is a silly question
