Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The first four days mainly entail inductions and training. During the rest of the placement, each intern is assigned to a different engagement and they are given different tasks. Working autonomously and asking questions when necessary is encouraged. Main interactions are with fellow interns and colleagues on your engagement.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
Understanding all about audit was not possible in such a short placement, but I have been given an overall understanding of what it entails. On the other hand, it was very clear what roles were available.

I have learnt to use different systems and programs and I have developed soft skills and technical skills. Communication and analytical skills are key.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture and the general atmosphere of the office were the main factors that attract you to the company. Everyone has been really welcoming, friendly, and placement. Everyone has time for you and your queries and they encourage you to take responsibilities while helping you. Overall, I am very satisfied with the environment here.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
The insight was successful in the sense that it gave me an overview of what a possible future career in this office and in this line of business would be like. While some daily tasks were less stimulating, overall, everything else has been very positive. I enjoyed, in particular, networking and learning from different people.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Deloitte
The process of applying can be quite daunting and long but stick to it! If you prepare, prepare, and prepare (repeated on purpose!), you will be rewarded. And if you get a place, take every opportunity to meet people and to learn. Also, do not stress too much! Everyone understands it is (probably) your first experience at a firm, so they will help you if you need it!
