Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The scheme involved being assigned to a team and assisting with the tasks they had left to do on their audit. The team would explain a task and the financial background of it and let you tackle it by yourself. There would be a lot of review work but it provided a good insight of an overview of an audit process
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was interesting learning about the different roles within audit and the different departments you're able to explore within that. There was less knowledge available about roles within different service lines but lot's of knowledge about the company in general and the benefits of the role

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I have significantly improved my excel skills after having a excel course at the start of the internship and then using it throughout the four weeks. I also increased my audit knowledge and the team were helpful in explaining key concepts throughout the process. I have also improved my professional skills and increased my confidence when talking to managers and other members of my team.

How would you rate business leader involvement during the insight

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
It was a nice working culture within the office and there was a good atmosphere with the other interns but less with the other staff. I think there could have been more socials or more of an effort to mix the staff but overall everyone I worked with was friendly and helpful, providing me with a good overall experience

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I enjoyed the insight and it was a good overview of how Deloitte operates and the working culture there. However, I don't think there was much of an insight of the actual work we would be doing at a full time role. Overall, it was enjoyable though and definitely worth it
