Vacation Student- Legal analyst Review

An overview of the role involves supporting tasks for client projects like drafting a board minute and holding letter. On a day-to-day basis, it involves reviewing the emails sent to you, attending team meetings, completing research tasks given by the supervisor or any field of interest. Also, this includes engaging with the team within the office.

A good amount of responsibility is given when conducting research tasks or drafting documents. I was not given too much responsibility where I felt like I was left in the dark. The people leader is always around to support any areas that are difficult and explain tasks that are unfamiliar.

I have learnt many new legal terminology and aspects in law. This was supported by the resources Deloitte provides. The team are super friendly and when you are unsure about a task, they are able to provide guidance on how to approach a task. I have learnt to efficiently write article notes that are brief but provide a sufficient overview of the topic.

There was a lot of support provided. The team are supportive and helpful when explaining new tasks and topics. They are always open to questions and encourage more questions. There was an induction at the beginning of the internship which clearly laid out things we can expect. There was regular check-in to ensure the correct support and guidance is given.

Everyone is really encouraging and motivating. There is a true sense of belonging and they will adapt to your requirements and needs. It is a comforting and friendly space

I have truly enjoyed every second of the internship. The tasks that were given were always bearing in mind my current level of expertise. They always explained the tasks in detail and were open to follow up questions. They genuinely make you feel included and a part of the community. I have learnt many new things from legal terminology to learning how to schedule a teams meeting. This internship was brilliant!
