Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I am working within the niche valuation team where I have been assisting with the writing up of Valuation Reports. I have also called up other property companies who are valuing similar properties in order to gain comparable evidence. With this information I have been able to draw conclusions as to what the Market Rent and Value should be.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes I was definitely given a lot of responsibility as I was asked to look over and update many valuation reports on my own. I felt like this was really important as i was able to learn more this way.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Yes, I have learnt so much new terminology as my degree was not Real Estate based but i am certainly looking forward to studying for my MSc Real Estate in September. I have also developed my analytical and critical thinking skills in my day to day work and more on the softer side of things I have definitely developed my teamwork and communication skills not just within my team but there are lots of networking opportunities.

I definitely received guidance when required. The team were always happy to help and when appropriate always gave me the support necessary.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Honestly, everyone i met was LOVELY. I got involved in lots of activities including hockey and netball and met loads of people from other teams and everyone i met were so kind and inclusive. It was also a very atmosphere to be part of.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I absolutely loved my internship. I have had some amazing memories and made some great friends that i know i will stay in contact with in the future. I am so sad to be leaving and did not realise how much i would enjoy this opportunity.
