Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I create key performance indicator charts that aids colleagues in identifying where they need to focus some of their time. I also aid the special tool designer in ensuring that jigs and fixtures are of the highest standard and that they improve aid production in completing their job
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, the responsibility grew with time. As you completed simpler tasks, you were given more complex involved tasks that required you to think more for yourself and take more liberty on choices.

I have developed an eye for identifying where potential clash conditions are with special tools, being able to shim them accordingly to reduce as much play in them as possible.

Plentiful. Everyone who I approached was very helpful and knowledgeable, and even if they didn't know, they would be able to point me in the direction of someone who would know.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Atmosphere was good. At times you could sense the conflict between departments/individuals however this wasn't so common

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I have very much enjoyed my placement. It has given me a real taste for the working world and what is out there to go and achieve. It has really given me something to strive towards post-university

Go for it! Huge company with lots of opportunities to see various sites and departments across plant and there is so much to learn about the group. The more you put into your time here, the more you will get out of it so get involved.
