Job Description

Join us, be part of more.

As a People Graduate, you'll have the opportunity to work on meaningful projects, solve real business challenges and make an impact from day one.

You'll gain hands-on experience, develop the skills needed for your future career and build a network that will support you throughout your journey.

Why People?

  • Our people are at the heart of how Centrica succeeds. From shaping the future of work to building an inclusive, high-performing organisation, our People teams help colleagues thrive while enabling our business to perform at its best.
  • Across the two-year programme, you could gain experience in areas such as People Business Partnering, Talent, Reward, Employee Relations, Organisational Design, Change and People Analytics.
  • Whatever path you follow, you'll develop skills in stakeholder engagement, data-driven decision making and project delivery, while helping create better experiences for our colleagues and supporting the future of Centrica.
  • Alongside your role, you will also have the opportunity to work towards a professional CIPD qualification.

Support to help you thrive

We're looking for potential, not perfection. That's why you'll be supported every step of the way through structured development opportunities, experienced mentors and line managers, dedicated graduate learning, buddy support and a network of graduates from across the business.

With offices across the UK and a hybrid approach to working, flexibility is an important part of our graduate programmes. You’ll need to be open to travel when required and, for some placements, relocation, giving you the opportunity to experience different teams, locations and parts of our business.

What we need from you:

  • Expecting a minimum 2:1 degree (2:2 if combined with a Master's)
  • Have the right to work in the UK, prior to commencing work
  • Curious, proactive and keen to learn
  • Willingness to travel and relocate between placements where required
  • Available to start in September 2027

Here's what's in it for you:

  • Starting salary of £32,000 per annum
  • You'll be eligible for our annual bonus scheme and a profit-based share incentive plan
  • A two-year programme, featuring three rotational placements across different areas of our People Team
  • Opportunity to work towards a professional CIPD qualification
  • Structured support and development throughout the programme
  • Opportunities to learn from experienced professionals and build your network
  • A chance to make a meaningful contribution while developing skills that will support your future career

We’re a people place

We’re looking for people to add to our culture – not fit in with it. We're building a community where you can be unapologetically you, where differences are celebrated, and where everyone can belong. Real inclusivity also means supporting the different realities our people face. That’s why we have the UK’s best Carers Policy and are continually building our approach to flexibility and wellbeing. Of course, we love having fun too. We’re a people place after all.

Why should you apply?

We’re not a perfect place – but we’re a people place. Our priority is supporting all of the different realities our people face. Life is about so much more than work. We get it. That’s why we’ve designed our total rewards to give you the flexibility to choose what you need, when you need it, making sure that you and your family are supported not only financially, but physically and emotionally too. Visit the link below to discover why we’re a great place to work and what being part of more means for you.

If you're full of energy, fired up about sustainability, and ready to craft not only a better tomorrow, but a better you, then come and find your purpose in a team where your voice matters, your growth is non-negotiable, and your ambitions are our priority.

Help us, help you. We would love for you to share any information about yourself throughout our recruitment process so that we can better understand you and help shape your journey.
