You’ll join the Operations team, which plays an important role in keeping the business running smoothly. While brokers focus on supporting clients and arranging insurance solutions, Operations makes sure the information, client records and insurance documents behind the scenes are accurate, organised and processed efficiently. This helps the team provide an excellent service to clients.

You’ll join Howden on a permanent role and complete an 18-month development programme designed to develop your technical knowledge, professional skills and confidence to kick start your career.

During the programme, you'll:

  • Learn how insurance solutions support organisations operating internationally.
  • Use your attention to detail skills to make sure client records are accurate and kept up to date.
  • Support the administration of insurance policies and contracts, including updating records and processing documentation changes.
  • Support with a range of process improvement projects to identify new ways to improve team efficiency.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the business to ensure we are delivering exceptional service to our clients.

Who are we looking for?

No insurance experience is needed; we’ll teach you everything you need to know!

You'll be:

  • Curious and eager to learn about business, global markets and the insurance industry.
  • Organised and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Comfortable working with numbers, data and information.
  • A strong communicator who enjoys working with different people.
  • Detail-oriented and able to produce accurate, high-quality work.
  • Proactive and willing to take ownership of tasks.
  • Resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative team player who enjoys supporting others and contributing to shared goals.

To be eligible for our apprenticeship, you must:

  • Have the full and unrestricted right to work in the UK.
  • Have lived permanently in the UK for the last 3 years.
  • Have achieved a grade C/4 in GCSE English and Maths.
  • Not already hold a qualification that significantly overlaps with the content of this apprenticeship.
