Job Description

Join ‘Team Tax’

Join ‘Team Tax’: straight-talking, collaborative and built for people who want to make an impact from day one. This is a place to learn fast, contribute early and keep moving forward.

Tax is changing fast. From AI and global regulation to sustainability, private wealth and international growth, the decisions our clients make today have real consequences. That means the work you'll do here actually matters. Our tax school/college leaver apprenticeship programme is your gateway to a future, brimming with opportunities and new experiences.

You’ll build technical expertise, work directly with clients and turn complex tax rules into clear, practical advice.

You won’t do it alone.

In Team Tax, collaboration is just how we work. You'll learn from people who've been where you are and who get the reality of balancing client work, study and exams. They’ll help you to build confidence, ask questions and deliver your best.

Our specialist areas include VAT/indirect tax, employer solutions, private client services, corporate tax, innovation reliefs, transfer pricing, capital allowances and tax investigations, so there's plenty of room to find where you fit.

Find out more about each area and decide which interests you most by clicking here.

Please note the only areas available in this location are:

  • Transfer Pricing
  • VAT

The Role

Whatever your specialism, you’ll be:

  • Working directly with clients and colleagues on both compliance and advisory.
  • Building expertise across UK and international tax, supported by a globally connected team.
  • Developing the confidence, judgement and technical skills to become a trusted business adviser.
  • Using digital tools to work smarter and add more value for our clients.

What we're looking for

We’re looking for people who are curious, motivated and ready to get involved. You don’t need to have studied tax before, we’ll give you the training, support and experience to build your career.

To be considered, you’ll need:

  • A minimum of 112 UCAS points across 3 A levels (or equivalent level 3 qualification), 104 UCAS points across four Scottish Highers/Advanced Highers or an Irish Leaving Certificate (higher level).
  • The permanent right to live and work in the UK.
  • A willingness to travel to client sites and other offices as required.
  • RSM doesn’t accept General Studies, AS levels or the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).

Your start date will be 14 September 2027. Start dates are mandatory – the training you receive from day one is designed to give you the best possible start to your career with us.

What we can offer you

You’ll get structured training, professional qualifications and real client experience in a team where every voice is heard. You’ll be supported to grow your technical knowledge, build commercial confidence and shape a career that feels like your own.

  • Study towards the ATT qualification for the first two years and then towards ACA or CTA (depending on which area of tax you join).
  • Learn through a mix of client work, structured training including paid study leave, time at college, mentoring and internal development programmes.
  • Access lifestyle, health and wellbeing benefits, including financial wellbeing support, that you can tailor to your needs.

Diversity and Inclusion at RSM

At RSM, we want to create a strong sense of belonging so that people of all identities, backgrounds, and cultures feel they can bring their true self to work. Our clients come from all walks of life. We aim to achieve that same diversity of background, experience and perspective in our own teams, so that we can genuinely understand our client's needs. Diverse teams bring a broader range of ideas and insights to work. That's why we're working together to ensure our firm's principles and processes support a firm culture that embraces difference and strengthens inclusion.
