Job Description

Launch your IT career with Bubble IT

Gain hands-on experience solving real technical issues, learn from expert engineers and build a future in IT through an apprenticeship.

Do you enjoy building PCs, experimenting with software, learning about networking, cloud technologies, or cyber security?

We’re looking for an ambitious IT Support Engineer Apprentice to join our growing team, gain hands-on experience working alongside our experienced engineers and build the foundations for a successful career in IT.

What you’ll be doing

As an IT Support Engineer Apprentice at Bubble IT, you’ll be the first point of contact for customers needing technical support. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing high-quality technical support via phone, email and ticketing systems
  • Logging and managing IT support requests
  • Troubleshooting software, hardware and connectivity issues
  • Supporting the resolution of 1st and 2nd line technical issues
  • Meeting key performance targets and service standards
  • Contributing to process and technical improvements
  • Work closely with colleagues to deliver excellent customer service

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a motivated and adaptable individual with a genuine interest in IT and a passion for solving problems. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A logical, problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow structured processes and work effectively within a team
  • Good time management and the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Curiosity and a keen desire to learn
  • A full, clean UK driving licence (essential)

We’d love to hear from you if you

  • Have built or updated PCs
  • Experiment with technology in your spare time
  • Have completed online IT, networking or cyber security courses
  • Enjoy coding, scripting or creating technical projects
  • Enjoy learning about servers and networking
  • Follow developments in cloud, AI, IT or cyber security
  • You don’t need experience with everything as we value curiosity and enthusiasm as much as technical knowledge

Entry requirements

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject

Non-standard entry with work experience

Relevant qualifications and/or work experience will be considered for applicants with potential to benefit from the programme.

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working hours

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am - 5:30pm

Benefits

  • Performance-related bonuses and annual bonus opportunities
  • 28 days holiday allowance (including bank holidays)
  • Ongoing support and training throughout your apprenticeship
  • Successful apprentices may have opportunities to progress into permanent IT roles within the business
  • The chance to grow within a supportive and forward-thinking IT team

Future prospects

90% of QA apprentices secure permanent employment after completing: this is 20% higher than the national average.
