About us:

We are a diverse team of 30 highly skilled Airframe Simulation Engineers working transnationally across 6 Airbus sites. We perform Nonlinear Finite Element Analysis to support all Airbus Programs and span the whole aircraft lifecycle. Our focus is on understanding the Physics of the problem and using our Advanced Numerical Techniques to capture this behaviour.

What you will be doing:

You will learn how to perform Airframe Structural Analysis using Nonlinear Finite Element Methods. You will work alongside skilled and experienced engineers, getting insight into the most complex and detailed form of structural analysis where we simulate the physics of structural behaviour. You will see how Simulation and Test work hand in hand to give greater insight into our Airframe and you will see how Simulation will support the Future of Aircraft Development. You will learn that Simulation needs to be rooted in a strong understanding of the real world and understand the true value of your Engineering Judgement!

Requirements:

Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

We're looking for a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our dynamic team. To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Pursuing a Masters degree in Aerospace / Mechanical Engineering;
  • A passion for Aircraft Structures Analysis;
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Experience with Finite Element Method is a plus;
  • Experience in coding or scripting languages is a plus.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
