Job Description
The Cyber Insights Summer School (CISS) is a classroom-based 10-week ‘in person’ programme, taking place from late June to early September 2027 in Lancashire.
Spend your next summer break applying what you’ve learned at university to boost your cyber skills and get first-hand experience of a future career in cyber. Our CISS programme offers you a mixture of interactive lectures, workshops and practical exercises – all supported by world-class experts. You’ll develop your existing knowledge and enjoy being part of a supportive cohort in an inclusive environment. We’ll even organise social events so you can connect with your peers and make the most of your summer.
You’ll need to be graduating between summers 2028-2030 and studying for a STEM degree, or a Joint Honours degree in a STEM subject. During the programme, you’ll receive a payment of £300 per week plus funded accommodation. Please note that accommodation consists of single occupancy rooms with a shared kitchen area and within mixed gender buildings.
If you’re curious about technology and are ready to learn new ways of using it, this could be just the programme for you.
We particularly encourage women and people from Black, Asian or other ethnic minority backgrounds to register their interest for this role. We recognise these groups are currently underrepresented in our workforce. It’s vital that we create a culture where different insights, perspectives and experiences are welcomed – and where you’ll always be encouraged to contribute, shape our work and be yourself.
A registration of interest does not constitute a job application, nor will such registration have any bearing upon the recruitment process itself. Any individuals who register their interest and who decide subsequently to apply for the Cyber Insights Summer School will need to complete an application form once the window for applications has opened on Thursday 17th September at 10am.
Once the application window has opened, we welcome applications from all candidates, regardless of their ethnic background, gender, disability and/or any other characteristic(s). All applications will be assessed solely on merit.
