  • Control systems; we work closely with the ECU Software teams to develop and test the code which runs on our cars

Typically, these projects are covered from within the Lap Simulation team, but it is possible that your time on the scheme could include related work within the Calibration and Controls department.

What can we offer you?

We offer the opportunity to work in a state of the art technology centre, being involved in exciting technological challenges alongside some of the world’s best engineers. You will get the opportunity to engineer solutions in world class facilities. You will also have the opportunity to work towards chartered status with the IET or equivalent body and will be assigned a personal mentor who will support you throughout.

Our benefits package includes:

  • A salary of £33,000pa
  • Performance bonus

  • 36 days annual leave
  • Access to private healthcare and generous pension scheme

  • A variety of other benefits and staff discounts

What do we need from you?

  • You need to be a curious, tenacious and driven individual who’s eager to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure
  • You will have a 2.1 degree or above, in a numeric discipline such as Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, or a related degree
  • You should have a strong academic background in relevant A Level, or equivalent disciplines, for example mathematics or sciences
  • You will need to have an excellent understanding of engineering first principles
  • You should have confidence in at least one of physical modelling, optimisation, or control systems and be able to demonstrate how you have applied these in your university or extra-curricular projects
  • You will be equipped with good programming skills. We primarily use MATLAB and Simulink, but experience with other languages such as Python or C++ would be considered
  • You will have a deductive mind with a calm systematic approach to problem solving
  • You will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You will be self-motivated, adaptable and creative, delivering quality work to tight deadlines
  • You will need the courage to challenge and the desire to be challenged, to expand your technical knowledge and skills
