Launch your IT support career with Mayflex!

Earn while you learn, solve real technical issues, support colleagues and build practical skills through a Level 3 apprenticeship.

Overview

Your work strengthens our operations and our foundations that frontline colleagues rely on for success. You’ll be part of a collaborative team that contributes directly to Mayflex's growth and our ambition to be the first call for automation and control. As an IT Apprentice you will:

  • Be part of a culture built on Professionalism, Agility, Collaboration and Excellence, where people support each other.
  • Be part of an expert, supportive team where your work has visible impact on our people, customers and strategy.
  • Develop your skills through ongoing learning, project involvement and real opportunities to progress your career.

Responsibilities

  • Provide polite, professional first-line IT support to colleagues, logging and updating incidents and service requests through the Service Desk system.
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, Microsoft 365, network, telephony and access-related issues, escalating more complex matters when required.
  • Assist with setting up, configuring and issuing IT equipment for new starters, movers and existing users.
  • Support routine user administration tasks, including password resets, account checks and access queries in line with IT procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, follow cyber security and IT policies, and actively take part in apprenticeship learning and development activities.

Desirable skills

  • A genuine interest in IT and technology, with curiosity and enthusiasm to learn through a Level 3 apprenticeship programme
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to listen carefully, ask questions and provide helpful support to internal customers
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions, procedures and security requirements accurately
  • A team-focused approach, with reliability, professionalism and a willingness to take feedback and develop confidence
  • GCSE English and Maths, or willingness to work towards the required functional skills standard where applicable

Entry requirements

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
