The role will provide hands on experience across Power BI reporting, data quality, business systems and process improvement, while developing practical skills in analysis, testing, documentation and data management. Working alongside experienced colleagues, the apprentice will assist with dashboard maintenance, data quality activities, report testing and process documentation, while gaining an understanding of how data and technology support business operations and decision-making.

Responsibilities:

Business intelligence & reporting:

  • Support the maintenance of Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Assist with checking data accuracy and investigating simple discrepancies.
  • Help test new or updated reports before they are shared with users.
  • Make basic report changes under guidance, such as layout, wording or simple visual updates.
  • Maintain clear documentation for reports, processes and user guidance.

Data quality & analysis:

  • Help collect, organise and prepare data for reporting and business purposes.
  • Support the creation, maintenance and updating of Item and Master Data within business systems.

  • Support simple analysis tasks using tools such as Excel and Power BI.
  • Learn how data supports business processes and decision-making across the organisation.

Automation & continuous improvement:

  • Gain exposure to simple automation tools such as Power Automate.
  • Help identify manual tasks that could be improved or simplified.
  • Support small improvement activities under guidance from the IT team.

You will need the following skills:

  • Good attention to detail.
  • Basic problem-solving skills and willingness to investigate issues.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Interest in data, technology, and business systems.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Able to manage simple tasks with guidance and ask for support when needed.

Additionally, the following experience would be beneficial:

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel.
  • Basic awareness of Power BI or data reporting.
  • Interest in databases, reporting tools or automation tools.
  • Understanding of how technology can improve business processes.

Entry requirements:

Standard entry:

  • Level 3 qualification (apprenticeship/A-levels/BTEC, etc)
  • OR equivalent work experience (typically two years in a relevant role)

Plus:

  • 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above
  • Experience with using Excel (in particular pivot tables and XLookup) and Microsoft products (or similar)

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working hours:

Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:45pm, with 2 days working from home. The first few weeks of your apprenticeship will be fully office based.

Benefits:
