Moffat Medical Practice is seeking a warm, approachable, and highly organised apprentice to join our friendly and supportive team in Moffat.
As the first point of contact for patients, you will provide a welcoming, professional, and efficient service both at the reception desk and through telephone and email communications. The role involves managing appointments, directing patients to appropriate services, and ensuring a positive patient experience throughout their interaction with the practice.
You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate patient records, processing prescriptions and referrals, managing clinical correspondence, and supporting the day-to-day administrative operations of the practice using a range of healthcare and digital systems.

Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for patients and healthcare professionals via telephone, email, and face-to-face interactions
- Develop expertise in Vision, the clinical system used to manage patient records, appointments, prescriptions, medical histories, and clinical workflows
- Support the accurate recording and maintenance of patient information
- Process and manage inbound clinical correspondence using DOCMAN
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues using Microsoft Teams and other digital communication tools
- Assist with clinical administration tasks, including referrals through the Electronic Referral System (ERS)
- Support workflow management

Working hours
- 30 hours per week
