About the business division:

Division specifics about the apprenticeship role:

As an apprentice, you’ll be provided with the training, study support and on-the-job coaching to accelerate your career. With study support towards a degree in Applied Finance and professional qualifications (e.g., CISI/IMC, CFA). Apprentices will also be supported by a mentor.

Apprentices will spend approximately 20% of their time studying as part of the apprenticeship scheme (at the end of year 2, leading to Level 4 investment operations specialist apprentice award and end of year 4, leading to Level 6 financial services apprentice award) in addition to assessments provided by practitioner qualification providers (CISI, IMC, CFA). Furthermore, apprentices will gain a degree in BSc (Hons) Applied Finance at the end of the 4 years subject to passing all required assessments.

Your rotational experience in FIC will give you the opportunity to work in different teams and have a varied role. Your tasks might include:

• Industry research
• Company performance monitoring
• Pricing products for traders
• Preparing financial data analysis
• Pitching trades to the team
• Participating in client calls
• Refining the way we do forecasts
• Involvement in live deals
• Exploring new private financing & lending opportunities
• Preparing marketing materials for clients
• Reviewing deal pricing and structure comparisons

Please note that to apply for our 2026 Apprenticeship Programme you must graduate from sixth form (school, academy, or college) in 2026 or have graduated in the last 12 months (i.e., in 2025).

Offers will be conditional on acceptance to the Applied Finance degree programme at Queen Mary so we encourage all applicants to ensure they meet the minimum entry requirements (e.g. AAA at A-Level including A in Maths) as set out in the relevant course page Applied Finance - Queen Mary University of London.
