Marketing Co-ordinator Placement

Hi, I'm Abdullah Rifat, currently studying Business and Management at the University of the West of England. I joined Savencia in July as a Marketing Coordinator Intern with the Own Label Marketing team in Westbury. This role involves many different tasks, from analysing product ranges and prices in the marketing to presenting monthly volume reports.

One of the great things about this role and being in Savencia is the chance to do unique activities, for example I have had chance to attend the Cheese Guild 2024 in London and Taste a lot of cheeses, both of which were really fun. As with any role, there can be challenges, for example transitioning from student life to a full-time role, as both are very different but the team here are very supportive in helping with any challenges faced.

This internship has given me valuable insights into how large businesses operate and what a marketing career can look like. It's been a great way to apply my university skills while learning new ones, helping boost my confidence. For any other students interested in this role, I recommend getting involved with the team as much as possible, this can include attending events, spending time with other teams and visiting the other office in Hampton. It really helps you integrate and make the most of your experience.
