E-Mobility Application Engineer Placement - Cwmbran

We are looking for an enthusiastic eMobility Application Engineering Student to join our Customer Engineering team of our Accelera Business Segment in Cwmbran. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!

This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence Summer 2026.

The requirements are to be onsite 100% for this role in Cwmbran.

External Qualifications and Competencies

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Support Application Engineers to help build and maintain technical relationship with various OEMs.
  • This can be done through prospecting work, RFI’s, RFQ’s and tech days.
  • Support Chief of Staff in driving global alignment of Application Engineering.
  • Interpret and understand engineering drawings, data analysis using industry standard tools such as MATLAB.
  • Use of CAD (Computer Aided Design) packages for creation of prototype parts, complex assemblies, viewing existing CAD assemblies and packaging studies
  • Using Analysis Tools to complete vehicle Performance Analysis, Efficiency Analysis and Durability assessments.

Additional Responsibilities Unique to this Position

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Studying a STEM degree, preferably studying for a technical degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Keen interest in battery electric vehicles, electrification, batteries and/or engines and must have practical experience (whether hobby, employment or work experience).
  • Good MS office skills and communication skills.
  • Practical background to any engineering project is a plus.
