Job Description

Group Internal Audit Degree Apprenticeship 2026

Opportunity awaits...

Your role

Interested in working financial services and have an eye for detail, but not sure where to start? Do you want to work for a firm with a truly global footprint?

If so, we’re looking for ambitious students to join our 2026 Apprenticeship Program within Group Internal Audit (GIA).

  • learn how to detect when things might have gone wrong and help strengthen and safeguard UBS
  • review our businesses, processes and products to understand how they work
  • learn the governance and controls in place to prevent errors or losses

Your team

You’ll be working in Group Internal Audit, a team of professionals working in 21 offices across 15 locations. We’re responsible for assessing processes, governance, risk management, and controls in all business divisions to identify where we can better manage risk. You’ll join a team responsible for audit coverage within your appointed team.

Your expertise

We’re looking for a candidate who:

  • has completed their A-levels (or equivalent) between 2024 and September 2026, and has achieved ABB as well as GCSEs (or equivalent) in English Language (Grade 5) and Mathematics (Grade 6).
  • has values that align with ours: hard-working, trustworthy, dedicated and collaborative
  • is a strategic thinker with strong communication skills
  • is motivated to work in a business with high demands and tight deadlines

We’re looking for someone who’s curious and wants to thrive in a business that never stops moving. It’s important to have an interest in the financial industry. We want to see what makes you unique and discover what you can bring to our team.

Perhaps you’ve organized a fundraising event or taken part in team sports? Or stepped out of your comfort zone to learn about a subject you found challenging? Let us know how your achievements match the skills we’re after.

Your program

This Apprenticeship will last four years. You’ll work with our experts and learn about the industry, our clients and our firm. You’ll be right at the heart of our business, learning from your colleagues, taking part in day-to-day operations.

For 2026, we’re offering two distinct apprenticeship opportunities within Group Internal Audit: Group Treasury and our Innovation & Analytics team. In Group Treasury you’ll participate in audit reviews, learn about controls, and help identify areas for improvement. This role is ideal for candidates interested in finance/treasury, risk, and compliance. In the Innovation & Analytics team you’ll focus on using data analytics, technology, and automation to support audit and innovation initiatives, as well as work on developing dashboards, automating testing, and implementing AI solutions. This role is ideal for candidates passionate about technology, analytics, and continuous improvement. During your application, you’ll be asked to indicate which team aligns best with your interests and skills.

You’ll have plenty of opportunities to develop new skills and make contacts along the way. If you like challenges, enjoy learning and want to work where no two days are the same, this program is for you.

You’ll work towards a BSc (Honours) Applied Finance degree (Group Treasury team) or BSc (Honours) in Digital and Technology Solutions (Innovation team), both with the University of Exeter.
